P-LM5 Champion Lactate Analyzer |
|
The integral rechargeable battery allows the analyzer to be used at track or poolside and an optional all-weather carrying case enables the P-LM5 to be operated in virtually any environment. A mains version, the Model LM5 Champion, is also available. Analytical Principle: With lactate oxidase enzyme, the analyzer measures the rate of oxygen uptake and, under appropriate controlled conditions, this is directly proportional to the lactate concentration. Example:
Operation: The single action of injecting a sample is all you need to obtain a result and prepare the analyzer for the next analysis. Sample injection via a very accurate positive displacement pipette also triggers the complete analytical cycle. A hard-copy result is then obtained within 20 seconds of sample introduction. The analyzer is first calibrated with a known lactate standard. Samples can be whole blood, plasma, serum or other biological fluids. Whole blood samples are collected in Analox capillaries or tubes containing heparin, fluoride and nitrite. Analyses are menu-driven via the 32-character display which guides the operator through the complete procedure. Subsidiary menus are reached via YES and NO buttons which enable the user to change calibration values, optimize operational modes, utilize special functions and perform statistical data analysis. The display also provides self-test diagnostics in relation to sensor electrode status and fluid movements. |
