recently discontinued Beckman system (see below) and so becomes a direct replacement for it.

The Analox
GM9 Analyzer measures whole blood or plasma glucose and is fully compatible
with the Beckman Glucose 2 Analyzer. The
glucose measurement is based on enzymatic oxygen consumption. In the presence
of molecular oxygen, which is consumed in the reaction, glucose is oxidised by the
enzyme glucose oxidase to gluconic acid and H2O2. The result is printed 20 seconds
after sample injection.

TECNOLOGY PRINCIPLE
In the presence of molecular oxygen, glucose is oxidised by the enzyme glucose oxidase to gluconic acid and hydrogen peroxide. Oxygen consumption is measured in solution by means of a Clark electrode:
